A ‘CHICKEN BONE’ JADE CARVING OF A BELL
17TH-18TH CENTURY

明末清初 雞骨白玉梵紋鐘

The bell is carved in low relief to the exterior with a band
of hanging emblems between two bands of vajra. The
top is carved with a bud-form fnial encircled by stylised
lotus petals, each enclosing a lança character. The stone
is of a creamy white tone with dark grey speckled and
streaked inclusions.
