Meiji Period
Finely decorated in high relief with large
peony blooms issuing from pierced rockwork,
the sides with butterflies amongst scattered
flowers and foliage on a nashiji ground, the
cover interior with birds in flight before a
riverside pavilion, amongst pine, bamboo
and prunus, the tray with flowering peony,
magnolia and prunus blossom.
16cm high (6.1/4in) x 30.5cm wide (12in) x
39cm long (15.3/8in) (3).
