Ming Dynasty
The Supreme Lord of the Dark Heaven with serene countenance,
seated with his hands resting on his knees, the flowing robes open at
the chest to reveal an armoured breast plate, the robes tied beneath
the high belt with a billowing ribbon.

THE FOUR DIRECTIONS
Ming Dynasty, 17th century
Wearing elaborately armoured robes and helmet, with a billowing
celestial scarf draped around his neck, the hands clasped together
before him, set on a wave and rockwork base, traces of gilt and
lacquered decoration remaining.
