A FAMILLE ROSE ‘SCHOLARS’ BALUSTER VASE
Daoguang six-character mark, Late 19th century
The mid-section finely enamelled with two foliate cartouches
enclosing scholars and their attendants in a pastoral landscape,
reserved on a ruby-ground lotus flower meander, the shoulder with
bands of ruyi-heads, key-fret and lotus lappets, with another register
with Eight Buddhist Emblems, the neck flanked with stylised bat-form
handles.
