A BRASS-ALLOY FIGURE OF SHADAKSHARI LOKESHVARA
Tibet, 13th century
The Bodhisattva modelled seated in dhyanasana wearing a
bejewelled dhoti, with four arms, two in manidharamudra, the other
two grasping a snake and a rope respectively, the serene face
topped with a five-pointed crown, all raised on a double-lotus throne.

A HARDSTONE-INSET GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF WHITE TARA
18th century
Seated on a double-lotus pedestal with the legs crossed in
dhyanasana, her right hand extended in varadamudra and her left in
vitarkamudra, holding the lotus stems blossoming at the shoulders,
the palms incised with eyes, adorning necklaces and earrings and
the hair neatly tied in high chignon, her benevolent facial expression
centred by the third eye and framed by an elaborate headdress.
