A BLACK-GROUND THANGKA OF SIX-ARMED MAHAKALA
Tibet, 19th century
With one face, two legs and six-arms, wearing a tiger skin and a
skull diadem, a small figure of seated Amithaba nestled in the fierce
mane of hair, the deity trampling an elephant-headed, prone figure,
surrounded by protector figures including Magzor Gyalmo and
Kurukulla, all under the watchful eyes of three Panchen Lamas in a
row at the top.
