A ‘PUDDINGSTONE’ SNUFF BOTTLE

The thick-walled bottle is of black color suffused with a striking                                        13
composition of various sized pebbles of pink, grey, greenish-yellow,
white and dark olive-green color, some pebbles appearing as if
outlined.
2º in. (5.7 cm.) high, amethyst stopper

A MOLDED AND RETICULATED BLUE-ENAMELED PORCELAIN
SNUFF BOTTLE
IMPERIAL, JINGDEZHEN KILNS, QIANLONG FOUR-CHARACTER SEAL MARK
AND OF THE PERIOD, 1770-1799

The bottle is decorated in openwork on either side with an oval
dragon panel fanked by molded mask handles on the shoulders and
stylized foret designs between ruyi and leaf borders.
