The soft paste, rectangular bottle, 1820-1850, is decorated on either       Ruth and Carl Barron Collection, Belmont, Massachusetts, no. 4893.
side with a courting scene between molded mask and ring handles, the        Square bottle: Asian Art Studio, Los Angeles, California, 2001.
base with an apocryphal Yongzheng mark. The bottle of square section,       Ruth and Carl Barron Collection, Belmont, Massachusetts, no. 5157.
1850-1880, is decorated on each side with two buddhist lions beneath        Cylindrical bottle: Robert Kleiner, London, 2012.
bats on the top and the neck. The third, cylindrical bottle, 1830-1850,     Ruth and Carl Barron Collection, Belmont, Massachusetts, no. 5301.

                                                                            A FOSSILIFEROUS LIMESTONE SNUFF BOTTLE
                                                                            1730-1860

                                                                            The bottle is thick-walled and of somewhat fattened, rounded shape.
                                                                            The fnely polished stone is of buff color suffused with a dense pattern
                                                                            of fne black and some pale blue and pale russet inclusions.
                                                                            2º in. (5.6 cm.) high, glass stopper
