                                                      A RED-OVERLAY WHITE GLASS DOUBLE-GOURD-FORM SNUFF

                                                      The transparent ruby-red glass overlay is carved through to the
                                                      translucent white ground with a continuous design of double-gourds
                                                      growing on curling vines amongst fat, circular leaves, all linked by a
                                                      single vine in the waisted center. The foot is formed by three gourds.
                                                      2Ω in, (6.3 cm.) high, agate stopper

                                                      PROBABLY IMPERIAL GLASSWORKS, BEIJING, 1720-1780

                                                      The high-shouldered opaque bottle has mottled bright-red and
                                                      yellow markings and diagonal stripes on a deep-red ground.
                                                      2Ω in. (6.3 cm.), mother-of-pearl stopper
