A DARK-BROWN-OVERLAY WHITE GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE
1780-1870

The opaque dark-brown overlay is carved through to the translucent
white ground on either side with a design of fve bats (wufu)
encircling a shou medallion. Each narrow side is decorated with a
mask and ring handle.
2º in. (5.7 cm.) high, glass stopper

A ROCK CRYSTAL ‘DOUBLE’ SNUFF BOTTLE
1750-1870

The transparent rock crystal is carved as two conjoined snuff bottles
of different sizes and shapes, the smaller of fattened oval shape
standing in front of the larger rectangular bottle, its body tapering
towards the shoulder.
