JADE PHOENIX-FORM INK PALETTE
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)

The palette is carved in the form of a
phoenix with its head turned back and
tucked between its wings, which fank
the concave ink well. Its bifurcated tail
is outstretched and its legs are tucked
underneath its body.
