Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th century
The circular silver box with inrobuta (flush-fitting lid), chiseled partially in
openwork and decorated in gold and shibuichi with a mass of cherry
blossoms, overlaid with two overlapping squares mimicking shikishi (poem
papers), one with maple leaves on water and the other with two birds and
flowers under the moon, signed with chiseled characters Yosai and sealed
Yo, and on the underside Masayuki koku

Meiji (1868-1912) or Taisho (1912-1926) era, circa 1900
The globular pot with a tall loop handle, finished with four flattened
sides, each with a scene of birds and flowers hammered up in uchidashi
(repoussé) technique, the cover decorated with sparrows in flight
surrounding a chrysanthemum finial

Set on a splayed foot with a bulbous body and a tall slender neck, the spout
formed as a supple stalk of bamboo and the handle as two young bamboo
shoots with leaves trailing across the vessel, the foot applied with floral
lappets on a stippled ground, the stopper with a finial of a leafy bamboo
section, signed on the underside Sansho Zan Tsukuru and with a kao
