Jurentang seal mark, early 20th Century
Delicately enamelled with chrysanthemums,
bamboo, blossoming prunus and lilies issuing
from craggy, black and blue rockwork, the
seal mark in iron red within a double square in
the bottom right corner, wood mounted.

PLAQUE
Iron-red Hongxian four-character mark,
Republic Period
Well enamelled in shades of grisaille and coral-
563 red with a tranquil mountainous riverscape
enclosing a sage and his attendant standing
on a riverbank beneath gnarled pine trees
while his other attendant crosses a bridge
approaching a pavilion enclosure, inscribed at
the top right, with the seal at the bottom left.
42.8cm x 29.8cm (17in x 11 3/4in), framed.

Period
Each depicting a religious figure, including
Budai and a fortune teller, accompanied by
a calligraphic inscription, the plaque with the
fortune teller bearing signature and seal of
the artist, all mounted in hardwood as a table
screen. Each plaque: 20.3cm (8in) x 8.5cm (3
3/8in) (4).
