Ming Dynasty
The animated beast seated with the head turned to its left, hinged at
the front, the open mouth revealing fanged jaws, the body well cast
with scales and flame motifs, the upturned tail with six curls of hair
extending upwards.

A GILT-BRONZE COPPER ALLOY FIGURE OF A LAMA
Tibet, possibly 18th century
Heavily cast, the figure seated in padmasana over cushions and clad
in a peaked layered headdress, probably that of the Karma-pas,
and thickly-folded robes, his right hand held before is torso in vitarka
mudra, the other open in his lap, the cushions and hems of the robes
finely incised with brocaded motifs. 22cm (8 5/8in) high
