Just as there are “purists” in any sport or event. To be
accurate for some and to honor those who came before me I do keep accurate records. This
doesn’t matter to 99% of the people I met on the Mississippi River including those at Lake
Itasca the headwaters of the Mississippi, but there is always 1%.
After doing my “Cross-Over” into the little pool that had some water, less than knee high, my
kayaks draft unloaded like they were was about an inch or two so they floated in this “mini-
pool” that was about all the real water I would see till at least Gulsvig Landing where I deter-
mined to do my re-start. (Some people might call it a portage-but for me that would come lat-
er.)
