Landing on the beach once I had brought both kayaks over the rocks into Mississippi Creek/River proper I
spent hours visiting with people that were there.

This would become the legend of the Mississippi for me.

Not the River, not the countryside, not the wildlife, but the people. Normal people, common people, everyday
people like you and me except for one big factor in their life……….

                                                 THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER

People are treasure troves of memories, experiences and perspectives. No two people are ex-
actly alike and as has been seen in court, two people can look at the same thing and see differ-
ently. Similarities may exist, but until you try it, you may be surprised.

I like to inspire people in person. Often if given time they not only have something to say or
have seen but will surprise you with a different way of thinking about it, or doing. That alone
inspires me but I have found at different times I need to be inspired.

THIS WAS NOT ONE OF THOSE TIMES,

I was wired, inspired, talkative, creative, inventive and fully alive. I really needed to shut up
but with that much adrenaline going, it was like telling a Barge to stop dead in the river. It just

wasn’t gonna happen. So the afternoon slipped by and people came and went and a few stayed
and talked to me also for hours.
