PRIVATE WORK FOR CLIENTS
Working privately for our clients conflicts with our contract of employment, meaning that doing this could be regarded as financial abuse. Clients who wish to employ you privately must pay an introduction fee of £4000; not doing this will result in us taking you to an employment tribunal where we will seek £4000 from you for breaching your employment contract.
DURING YOUR EMPLOYMENT
The previous section dealt with aspects of your early employment. We now wish to draw your
attention to certain aspects that will apply during your employment:
INDUCTION TRAINING
On your first day of employment the process of completing Ranger Home Care’s induction training programme will begin, which you will be expected to do at a reasonable speed and to the standards set in the Health and Social Care Act 2008. If you feel that you can progress faster than the material being presented to you, please speak to your manager.
WORKING STANDARDS
During your induction you will be shown the Care Quality Management System, which outlines the management of Ranger Home Care and many of its working practices: this is always available to you. Your contract of employment states that you must familiarise yourself with system and abide by its policies and procedures, but you must not change, remove, or add to any of the documentation without the authorisation of the Registered Manager. You are also prohibited from using unauthorised documentation and must report the existence or use of unauthorised documentation to the Registered Manager immediately.
CRIMINAL RECORDS
Upon appointment, we will have executed a criminal record and DBS check on you as stated during your interview. As per your contract of employment, if at any point your criminal status changes in any way you must immediately inform your employer immediately.
TRAINING – INDUCTION AND ONGOING
All carers must undergo induction training and ,as your employment progresses, your skills may be extended to encompass new job activities within the business. You will receive notices through email, please also contact the office if you wish to join any particular programme eg. RQF programme.
WAGES/SALARIES & OTHER BENEFITS
WAGES / SALARIES
Your Assignment Specification specifies your rate of pay and the frequency and method of payment, and your payslip indicates how your gross pay is calculated, and the deductions that have been made (N.I., Income Tax etc.)
If you notice any irregularities regarding your pay, please contact our Finance Manager on her
email – phillippa@rangerhomecare.com. If you receive an excess payment, the excess amount will be deducted in full from your next payment. You will be notified in advance of any deductions so please inform us of any individual hardships as we will consider allowing your repayment to be done over a longer period.
PAY – RATES, FREQUENCY AND PROCEDURE
Your rate of pay will generally be on a weekly basis as defined in your Assignment Specification.
Wages are payable monthly in arrears, by BACS payment. You will receive these wages in your bank account on the last working day of the month, but some banks and building society clearing systems may cause a delay – we are not to be held responsible for this delay.
