HOURS OF WORK
Your Contract of Employment will refer to your normal weekly hours and show your legal right not to work more than an average 48 hours per week, but you may want to waive this right, meaning that you may be required to work more than this average. If you wish to do this, then we require a written declaration to waive this right.
BANK HOLIDAYS
Please note that working on bank holidays does not entitle you to extra pay as they are part of your holiday allowance, but instead you can receive a day off in lieu.
ADDITIONAL HOURS
It is a condition of your employment that you may be requested to work additional hours as authorised and as required by the needs of the business.
TAX YEAR DETAILS
The tax year changes over in the first week of April each year; following the end of the tax year we will issue Form P60, indicating the total pay you have received over the previous year and the deductions that have been made for National Insurance and income tax. This is a legal requirement for us, but we cannot duplicate copies, so keep them safe.
P11D
Ranger Home Care may have to complete a form P11D to recover tax paid upon expenses incurred during business. Ensure that you collate all receipts and submit them to Ranger Home Care before the P11D is due to the Inland Revenue.
STATE PENSION SCHEME
You will automatically be contracted into the State Earnings Related Pension Scheme, NEST, unless you contract out and take out a private pension plan. If you wish to opt out this must be a formal request to Finance Manager.
BUSINESS EXPENSES
For authorised and legitimate expenditure during performance of duties, you will be fully reimbursed by us, but you must complete an expenses claim form and submit valid receipts. These expenses must be pre-agreed with your line manager and to be reimbursed you must show proof of this pre-agreement.
ALTERATIONS AND MODIFICATIONS TO THE CARERS HANDBOOK
Ranger Home Care reserves the right to make amendments to this Handbook and our conditions of service. You will be made aware of minor changes when they are made, but large alterations will only go ahead after a full consultation with all affected carers. Such changes will be implemented at the end of that notice period subject to any written objections having been lodged with Ranger Home Care.
SICKNESS / INJURY ABSENCE PAYMENTS AND CONDITIONS
The Sickness and Absence policy and Procedure is available on the QCS portal; fail to follow this may lead to unauthorised absences, which could result in disciplinary action, so call us on 01252850040 when ill to avoid such consequences. As you are working with vulnerable adults, you may not leave your client until another member of Ranger Home Care is present.
