AFRICA THROUGH MY EYES
Dorothy Walker
y name is Dee and I’m a
huge fan of travel and food.
It’s always been a hobby
of mine, and recently my
Mhusband persuaded me to
start an Instagram blog to showcase my
food and travel adventures. That is how I
came up with ‘thezedtravelfoodie’ earlier
this year and so far, so good!
Travel of the
African continent is
something exciting
and fresh because no
two countries are the
same. I’ve been to a
few countries on the
continent but there
is still sooo much for
me to see, do and
EAT!
Cape Town
What I loved most about Cape Town as an avid wine lover was the Stellenbosch region. As soon as we landed, and after our
driver had picked us up, hubby and I were soon cascading through beautiful scenery of vineyards and lush rolling hills! What is
not to like about that?! We stayed at a cute bread & breakfast called Wedgeview lodge and enjoyed the next few days hopping
from vineyard to vineyard sampling their local wines, whiskies and food. Absolutely epic!
After a fix of lots of different wine and local food we moved onto Cape Town itself and that was not disappointing either! Table
Mountain is exquisite and really deserves to be an icon landmark. We also ventured to Boulder’s beach to see the penguins
near Simon’s town and from there onto the Cape of Good Hope which is where the Indian Ocean and Atlantic Ocean meet.
