CARLO POGGIOLI

CARLO POGGIOLI studied stage and costume design at the
Istituto D’Arte and The Accademia di Belle Arti in Naples.
After completing his studies, Poggioli worked in Rome as
assistant designer for some of the most important Italian cos-
tume designers such as Gabriella Pescucci, Piero Tosi, Maurizio
Millenotti, for films directed by: J. J. Annaud “The Name of the
Rose”, Terry Gilliam “The Adventures of the Baron Munchausen”,
Federico Fellini “The Voice of the Moon”, Martin Scorsese “The
Age of Innocence”, Franco Zeffirelli “Sparrow” and more.

In 2004, he garnered a BAFTA nomination for Best Costume for
his work on Anthony Minghella’s “Cold Mountain”.
In 2014, he designed the movie “Divergent”, starring Shailene
Woodley, Kate Winslet and Ashley Judd.
Poggioli is Paolo Sorrentino’s go to costume designer. Most
recently, they collaborated on “Youth”, “Killer in Red” and Focus
Features “Loro 1” and Universal’s “Loro 2”.
