A Lawyer’s Opening Statement

Since 1986, this book, in its longer form (64, then 44 pages) has impacted about

40,000 folks. But this wouldn’t make a dent in the New York Times best sellers!

I gave it away as a type of ‘business card.’ I also later used it working as a

Western U.S. coach tour guide. It was also purchased by individuals, counselors, Social

Service agencies, jails, and probation departments in the earlier editions.

References to John Denver are eliminated in this shortened edition. In prior editions

I used him as a model for things. I sang with John back in his BC days: ‘Before he was a

Celebrity.’ He really impacted my life. But I have cut those

examples here. They’re in my paperback, quality bound book:

I read a study about how very few people take time to read much today. People used

to do a lot more reading but being busy excludes it today. So I shortened this a lot, and

put it in more ‘outline, short statement form.’ The content is much the same, but more

abbreviated. And I include more GOSPEL thoughts than were in the earlier editions that

were purchased and shared by lots of folks, and bought and used by secular businesses,

counselors, and governmental agencies: 1986-1995. The more gospel edition began in

1995, which of course was not supported by secular interests.
