PAULETTE CLARK
                                        HUMAN RESOURCES PROGRAM MANAGER
                                        RETIRING DECEMBER 30, 2023

What inspired you to pursue your career, and how has it evolved over the
                                        years?
I learned that even if a job doesn’t pay the highest, the benefits would
outweigh the income. I wanted to share that philosophy with potential
employees when recruiting and continue to share the information with the
ongoing employees during employment into retirement.

Can you share some of the most significant professional accomplishments
or milestones from your career that you are particularly proud of?
The ability to grow continuously in my field from Benefits Specialist to HR Program Manager. The many
advisory boards I have participated with, in one capacity or another, to allow establishing networks of
professionals that have the same or similar complexities in the HR and Benefits area. The privilege of working
with several dedicated teams to provide the necessary communication, education, and information to county
employees for the last 22 years.

What are some of the key lessons or insights you’ve gained from your years of experience that you’d like to
pass on to the next generation or your colleagues?
Put family first, learn to set boundaries, don’t compromise belief systems, and never violate the IRS Section-125
        rules!

How do you envision your retirement, and what are some of the activities or projects you look forward to in
this new chapter of your life?
I plan to take classes to refresh my French language skills and learn to sketch; go on fishing trips with my 90-
year father; travel to other countries to experience other cultures, art, and food; basically, anything I want to
        on my timetables and terms.

Can you recount a memorable or humorous story from your career that stands out to you?
I think there are way too many to mention.
