Introduction: a. Tell the person you won’t preach at them; you won’t shove anything on them!

I. Begin with explanation of approach to the Word
A. We assume you don’t know anything about the Word
B. I don’t want to argue whether the Bible is true. Just want to see what it says (Ps. 119:89)

II. God’s Creation (Gen. 1)
A. Earth (Gen. 1:1)
B. Life – plant life (1:11,12)
Fish (Gen 1:21)
Animals (1:25)
Man (1:26) (I won’t argue evolution; the Bible simply states that God created life. It
doesn’t claim to be a scientific treatise.)

III. Man’s Likeness to God
A. “And God said, “Let us make man in our image.”
1. Trinity – (Mt. 28:19,20) – God is 3 Persons in One = Father, Son and Holy Spirit
B. Man also has 3 “parts” (I Th. 5:23) = body, soul, and spirit
1. Body – physical contact (reflex actions, etc.)
2. Soul – social contact (the Id, self) self-consciousness
3. Spirit – Spiritual contact (relationship to God) (Jn. 4:24)
C. Man is like God in that he dominates all other animals, even as God dominates all life
(Gen. 1:28)
