            Pronoun Case

Personal pronouns have different forms (cases), depending on how they are used in sentences.

Would you say, "Me went to the market"? If not, what would you say?

This chart of personal pronouns shows three forms (or cases) of personal pronouns.

                                                  Cases of Personal Pronouns
                               Subjective (nominative) Objective Possessive
                                         I Me my, mine
               1st person
                                        We Us our, ours
2nd person You You your, yours
                                        He Him his
                                        She Her her, hers
               3rd person
                                       They them their, theirs
                                         It It its

Determining the pronoun case: Locate and underline the verb twice. What is the subject of the verb? If it's a
pronoun, it must be in the subjective case. If the pronoun is an object (direct or indirect object or object of a
preposition), it must be in the objective case.
            Examples:
                                                             57
