Clean after removing with water and toothpaste and a soft toothbrush.
No chemical cleaners, denture chemicals or abrasive chemicals should be used to clean
                aligners.
Flush well with cold water before inserting
Avoid foods which contain sugar and carbohydrates as they provide sustenance for bacteria
which will thrive in the close confines of a dark moist aligner protected environment. Should a
patient eat such, they should rinse their mouth before putting their aligners back on.
The aligners must be worn for at least 20-22 hours per day.
They must be worn 7 days per week.
They should be removed for eating and cleaning.
Keep all of your aligners. If a problem arises with an aligner, it is possible to go back to the
previous one; to avoid losing progress to date.
If you break or lose an aligner, replace it with the previous one. Return the damaged or report
the lost aligner model to your dentist as soon as possible. A replacement aligner will be
provided. Do not go to a higher aligner, unless in the last few days of the prescribed lost/broken
                aligner.
If an aligner is not worn for a day, your teeth could lose all of the rotation that you have
achieved and you will have to start again.
Do not skip aligners in the hope of speeding up the process. This could cause damage to the
periodontic ligaments and loosen the tooth irreparably.
The patient may experience some physical discomfort during the first day or so of applying the
first aligner. Prescribe or recommend a mild pain killer in this instance.
It is recommended that the patient schedule an appointment with you towards the end of the
period of the second aligner, to assess progress and or problems.
You will find a patient progress/assessment record card for inclusion in the patient file.
For patients that have paid cash for the aligners; iMed Tech will provide them with a free dental
wash which the company will pay to you for you to provide to the patient.
