among SMEs in the two countries; and
iii. two sides also agreed to encourage and support
bilateral industrial cooperation and joint ventures
by their private companies to expand exports to
third countries.

d. Finance
i. Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation
in banking, especially in Islamic banking and
finance; and
ii. agreed to explore the potential for forging
strategic links to tap the global Islamic financial
market.

e. Agriculture
i. two sides stressed the importance of promoting
cooperation in the field of agriculture and agreed
to study the possibilities of joint venture
investment either in Malaysia, Qatar or in third
countries.

f. Standards
i. Qatar proposed that relevant authorities of the
two countries study the possibilities of signing a
memorandum of understanding in the field of
standardization to boost bilateral trade further.

g. Scientific and Technical Cooperation
i. two sides stressed the importance of technical
cooperation and exchange of information in
scientific and technical fields, especially in
information technology;
ii. Malaysian side invited Qatari businessmen to
invest in Malaysia's Multimedia Super Corridor.
