The cave art was discovered in 1956 by Louis-René
Nougier, Romain Robert, Charles and Louis Plassard.
The caves can be visited and are very popular.
Travel by train, deep into the
caves, to see the artwork!
Just like in the story, the cave is found in thick woodland on top of a
hill. These woods are where Osha and Pira meet Inko and enjoy
Just as Pira feared, cave bears playing together. Nearby is the La Binche river, where Grandfather
did live in the caves! fishes for his infamous salmon.
