La Village de la Madeleine
This picturesque cliffside location, where Osha and her
family move to for the winter months, is the site of the
Village de la Madeleine. It is a site of interest, not just
because of Stone Age residents but it also was used as a
place of safety by people through history.

In the story, Grandfather explains to the children that
their band had been coming to the “winter shelter” for
many years. He tells the brief story of it being
discovered when their ancestors “needed it most”. Of
course, we have no idea how the site was discovered by
The Vezere river, loops around the site. the Magdalenian people, but we do know that it was
definitely used as a shelter by them.
