Accountability
Your actions have enormous influence on people — even the so-called “little things” you do. Often it’s those little things that people watch most closely because that’s how you communicate what’s really important to you.
Leaders are accountable for their actions and impact. And by demonstrating accountability in action, they inspire others to take ownership and responsibility for their actions.
Leadership in action involves accountability - being answerable for the results of an assigned action, and responsibility - acting in a reliable, trustworthy, credible
manner.

      No Blame Environment
A No Blame environment creates safety so people will own up to errors and provide suggestions. It lays the foundation for initiative and ownership. It encourages people to take responsibility, learn from mistakes, and share learnings.

You build a ‘no-blame’ environment every day – one conversation at a time. Use every conversation as an opportunity to build another’s self-esteem
Managers and team members are partners in the improvement process. They share facts daily through straight talk and generous listening.
Leaders are responsible for creating a safe, no-blame environment of trust and integrity. Their role is to coach and lead by example.
Team members are responsible for supporting and reinforcing the positive behaviours of peers and management.
Mistakes are part of the “facts” in everyone’s work life. Use mistakes as opportunities for improvement – not vehicles for discipline.
Emphasize fact finding, not fault finding. Fact-finders observe, listen, ask questions, reserve judgment, analyze and conclude facts. They replace the words ‘I think...’ with, ‘here is what the data tells us...’
Point fingers only at processes – not people.
“You start the process by beginning to live it.”
