Use this tool to assess your day-to-day practices. Provide examples for each one and determine its impact on building a culture of accountability.

    £ Model accountability and set an example rather than holding others accountable without holding myself equally accountable.
        £ Allow people a safe place from time to time to vent their frustrations without letting justifications or excuses go unchecked or unresolved.
      £ Use accountability as a way to empower people toward results rather than as a hammer to nail people.
          £ Expect people to coach me when necessary even if I am not seeking their feedback.
      £ Practice what I preach rather than thinking accountability is something everyone else should work on.
        £ Avoid focusing solely on accountability to the exclusion of everything else — I do understand the uncontrollable.
        £ Coach people to take responsibility by listening, asking, supporting, and committing to agreed upon actions.
          £ Own the circumstances and analyze my activities to determine what more I can do to get results, rather than waiting for others.
