82 | FESTSCHRIFT
For many years they had various boys and girls from Iran living with them. They became
part of the Rapp family in all ways, even attending their Smachot as family members. I
remember being in their house the Motzei Shabbos of Rabbi Rapp’s aufruf as we were
cleaning up and watching Mrs. Rapp tell one of the Iranian girls that her mother was
finally on her way to America. Less than 48 hours before the wedding, this was so im-
portant to Rapp family to stop everything to make sure this girl would be able to plan for
being reunited with her mother.
Of course, there is no better complement for Rabbi Rapp than his Rebbetzin. Chaya has
truly been his Aishes Chayil from the start. She too is brilliant, witty, and an incredible
dynamo of chessed. Their home is very similar to Rabbi Rapp’s parents’ home – open to
all for anything. They routinely have over 20 people (or more!) for Shabbos meals, and Ba-
ruch Hashem they are raising a beautiful family that is following in their footsteps. May
they be zocheh to continue to serve the Denver and YU communities along with the rest
of Klal Yisroel for many years to come!
