                                      Therefore,  it  is  recommended  to  ask  the  surgery  center
                                      what time the surgery will begin. Avoid getting irritated due
                                      to a delay.
                                  5.  A nurse should soon take you into the preoperative area,
                                      where  she  will  go  over  all  your  questions,  and  ask  you
                                      questions, regarding; whether you have eaten, taken your
                                      medicines, and which eye will be operated on.
                                  6.  An IV line may be started.
                                  7.  At this time you are taken into the operating room.
                                  8.  An  oxygen  tube is fixed near your nose  so that you  can
                                      breathe freely under the drapes.
                                  9.  This  may sting a little. It is left on for a few minutes to
                                      work best.
                                  10. Once more the eye to be operated on, the lens, and your
                                      name should be confirmed.
                                  11. Unless you are allergic to iodine your eyes are cleaned with
                                      betadine, a strong antiseptic.

                               Surgical Steps:

                                  1.  Drape: sterile area is maintained by a drape which sticks to
                                      the skin and forms a well defined barrier.
