Leveraging Up!

        you sit down with your Manager, have these ready to communicate,
        as well as asking what the expectations are for you in your role.



                   Why Is This Important?



                   Demonstrating how proactive you are willing to be, not just
                   about their expectations for you, but about meeting your

        own personal goals and goals that you yourself see as productive for
        moving the business forward, this will communicate your dedication

        for your role immediately. This is the best first impression you can

        give for your new Manager, this will be the first seed to grow their
        confidence in you.




                   Must You Discuss the Goals

                   from Each Side?


                   Believe it or not, your goals may be different. They may all

        be designed to contribute to the bigger picture and overall success
        of the business, but you must keep in mind that your Manager has a

        point of view that is unique and seasoned. Your Manager has had
        the experience to see the reality of the bigger picture, and ultimately

        your Manager will be the one who determines what goals you are

        responsible for. This doesn’t mean that expressing your own goals is
        moot – in fact, it speaks volumes about your ability to look forward to

        the future and plan accordingly. Anticipation for any situation means
