A Sense of Identity: The Film
The audience on the opening night really enjoyed the film accompanying the exhibition. The
stories folks told ranged from the poignant and heart-wrenching to the hilarious. Bob
Knight’s story about his mother and father truly deserves the status of legend. He told of his
mother’s encounter with ‘an impudent, wee snotter of a man’ and her confusion at her
husband’s response: ‘Oh, Jeannie, Jeannie, yer gaun get me the jail!’ No more will be said at
the moment as this would really spoil the story – catch it on the film when you can.
