he three-day event of the Fourth Borneo
Research Education Conference (BREC) 2016
Tmarked another significant phase for Universiti Teknologi MARA, Sarawak, as nearly 60 participants (comprising
research students at various stages of their work) joined this conference. This was part of a series of conferences
organized by the participating institutions to enhance research education in the Borneo region and beyond. The
conference co-convened by Universiti Teknologi MARA, Sarawak, Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak
Campus, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and Curtin University Sarawak
served as an important learning event for research students and supervisors in business, management, education,
and other related applied disciplines. The conference chairs were Dr. Ellen Chung, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Sarawak,
and Dr. Ismail Ait Saadi of Swinburne Sarawak, while the keynote speaker was Professor Sulaiman bin Hanapi from
UNIMAS. As many of the participants needed scholarly guidance and collegial support to make progress towards
completing their research degree, this event offered a high-quality interaction platform for members from various
universities to deliberate on.

2016 bersama penceramah motivasi

ertandingan Bintang Kecil anjuran Radio Television Malaysia (RTM)
telah berlangsung pada bulan Disember 2016 dengan objektif
Puntuk mencungkil bakat nyanyian dalam kalangan kanak-kanak
berumur 7-11 tahun yang telah dimulakan dengan ujibakat di seluruh
negara bermula April 2016. RTM telah mengadakan sesi motivasi di mana
9 peserta telah menghadiri ceramah yang disampaikan oleh Profesor
Madya Dr Firdaus Abdullah, Penolong Rektor UiTM Sarawak pada
6 Disember 2016. Beliau telah menyampaikan taklimat serta memberi,
dorongan, dan kata-kata semangat kepada para peserta sebelum
mereka melangkah ke peringkat akhir.
