Keynote Speaker at IRCBE 2016

ssociate Professor Dr Corina Joseph presented a keynote speech at the 2nd International Research Conference
on Business and Economics (IRCBE), held at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro,
ASemarang, Cental Java, Indonesia from 3 to 4 August 2016. The title of her presentation was “Research Gaps
on Sustainability in Higher Education: A Way Forward”. Other distinguished keynote speakers were Professor Claudio
Morana (Universita di Milano, Bicocca, Italy), Professor Ian Alexander Kerr (Curtin University, Australia), Professor
Miranda Goeltom (Universitas Indonesia) and Professor Augusty T. Ferdinand (Universitas Diponegoro, Indonesia). It
was indeed an honour for Dr Corina to promote Universiti Teknologi MARA at the international arena.

PhD Student won Young Service Researcher Award

iTM Sarawak’s PhD student, Yusman Bin Yacob, won the Young
Service Researcher Award at the 7 International Research

USymposium in Service Management (IRSSM) held in Bangkok,
Thailand, from 2 to 6 August 2016. The title of his paper was “How
university students dispose smartphones and why: Understanding
disposition decisions in developing markets”, co written with Hiram
Ting (Unimas), Nelson Lajuni (UMS), Francis Chuah (UUM) and
Mathew Chien (Segi University). We hope that this achievement
will inspire other postgraduate students to present and share
their research work at seminars and conferences. Congratulations,
Yusman and we are proud of you.

SPSS FOR BEGINNER WORKSHOP

PPS for Beginner Workshop’ yang dianjurkan oleh pihak ILD UiTM Sarawak telah berlangsung dengan jayanya
pada petang 27 Mei 2016, bertempat di Makmal Komputer C2003, Blok C, Kampus Samarahan 2. Bengkel ini
‘Sterbuka untuk para pensyarah yang ingin meningkatkan pengetahuan masing-masing dalam menggunakan
perisian SPSS.
Tujuan utama penganjuran bengkel ini ialah untuk memperkenalkan ciri-ciri asas dan fungsi-fungsi perisian SPSS.
Di samping itu, bengkel ini juga bertujuan menyediakan latihan yang sistematik secara teori dan praktikal dalam
menggunakan perisian SPSS. Seramai 39 orang pensyarah telah menyertai bengkel ini. Sesi bengkel dikendalikan
oleh Puan Lenny Yusrina bt. Khedif dan Puan Zubaidah bt. Bohari. Para penceramah telah menunjukkan teknik asas
penggunaan perisian SPSS. Melalui bengkel ini, para peserta diberi tunjuk-ajar secara hands-on untuk membolehkan
penyampaian yang lebih berkesan.
