When to have sex if you want to get pregnant?
Ovulation refers to the release of an egg from one of the ovaries. If that
egg gets fertilized by a sperm and implants in your uterus, you're pregnant!
You're potentially fertile beginning five days before you ovulate through
the day of ovulation, although you're much more likely to get pregnant
during the final three days of this window. There's no foolproof method to
predict when you'll ovulate. But this chapter will discuss a few ways you
can estimate when it's most likely to happen, so you can try to time sex
accordingly and boost your chances of getting pregnant.
While there is no hard and fast or specific days of the month which can
guarantee pregnancy if a couple mate in that time frame, there are
certainly days, when sex reaps rich dividends as anecdotal evidence has
suggested. The probability of a successful conception is most if sex is
performed two days prior to the day of ovulation (in your cycle) and also
on the day of ovulation as on this day, the likelihood of the sperms and
eggs fertilizing in fallopian tubes when the secretion of eggs is at its peak is
more.
