Recognition And Renewal of Council Members
The NYAA Council deeply values the unwavering commitment and contributions of its members
who have faithfully served the Association for over a decade. While the Council recognises the
importance of periodic renewal to infuse fresh perspectives, it approaches the renewal process
with care to ensure continuity, organisational stability, and the preservation of institutional
knowledge.
The NYAA is continually mindful of leadership succession and actively seeks to invite young
individuals, particularly NYAA Gold Award recipients, to serve as Council Members. These
individuals bring with them a deep understanding of the Association's values, mission, and ethos,
ensuring that the legacy of youth development continues to evolve under committed and capable
stewardship.
Among the long-serving members are two full-time staff members who have played foundational
roles since the establishment of the Association. Their extensive experience, deep institutional
knowledge, and wide-reaching networks remain invaluable to the ongoing development of the
NYAA:
• Mr James Soh Nga Kok, Executive Director and full-time staff
As the Founding Member and Executive Director, Mr Soh has been instrumental in shaping
the vision, growth, and international reputation of the NYAA. His extensive knowledge and
