• There is no paid staff, as a close member of the family is related to the Executive Director.
• NYAA Governing Council Members do not receive any compensation except for the two full-time
staff members.

National Council Meetings & Annual General Meeting 2024

In 2024, the NYAA Council convened three Council Meetings and one Annual General Meeting
(AGM), with active participation from 22 Council Members, alongside official representatives from
the People's Association and the Ministry of Education.

At the Annual General Meeting held on 21 June 2024, the Council recorded the following
membership changes:
Stepped Down:
Mr Lim Soo Ping
Ms Sharon Soh
Mr Izzuddin Taherally
Mr Viswa Sadasivan

Elected as New Members:
Mr Oliver Goh Koon Jeow
Dr Chen Wen Qian
Dr Mustafa Izzuddin

The Council continues to benefit from the valuable perspectives and support of its appointed
representatives:

• Ms Pearly Seah, Director (Youth and Sports), representing the People's Association
• Mr Kenneth Lee Tee Chong, Director (Character & Citizenship Education), representing the
Ministry of Education

The Council maintained a strong level of engagement throughout the year, achieving an average
attendance rate of 61.46% across all Council Meetings.

The NYAA remains grateful for the dedication and contributions of all its Council Members and
representatives in providing strategic guidance, oversight, and leadership to advance the
Association's mission.
