             Abstract
                    Smart city involves smart governance, smart technology, smart mobility, smart planning and smart
             building. Smart mobility is not just about designing for good connectivity and linkages, but also includes ease
             of  movement,  equity,  accessibility  and  security  for  pedestrians.  Pedestrian-oriented  transportation  has
             recently emerged as an important issue to supplement transportation modes as a method to reduce traffic
             accidents  and  environmental  pollution.  This  study  aims  to  develop  a  pedestrian  environment  evaluation
             method called Pedestrian Environment Quality Score (PEQS). PEQS measures main pedestrian environment
             elements based on quantitative scoring system. Main pedestrian environment elements are considered in
             PEQS including intersection safety, street design, land use, perceived safety. Then, the developed method is
             applied to evaluate the pedestrian environment of centre business area in Thu Dau Mot City (Vietnam).
