Hello and Happy New Year SJGS Families!

We hope 2021 has started off on the right foot for you. I know we are all
excited to get back to learning in person, but please take a moment and
give thanks for our wonderful Administration and Teachers for all of their
hard work. Granted it is difficult for us all, transitioning back and forth
through virtual and in-person days, and holidays, with child care and
work commitments, but it certainly cannot be easy to educate our kids via computer camera in
an empty room, or work in a school building devoid of hundreds of tiny, excited voices. We’re
praying right alongside all of you that an end to the global pandemic is within sight.

Our fundraising efforts continue with sales of our Zooming through the School Year t-shirts.
                                                                               st
Our next scheduled Spirit Wear days are January 19th and 21 — be sure to place your order
in time for delivery or FREE pick up from Farro’s Tee’s on Fischer Blvd.

Box Tops for Education is going strong – Remember to scan your receipts in the app.
Also, check for Bonus Box Top Specials for products you stock in your pantry! Some products
receive Bonus Box Tops points! – For instance, Annie’s products purchased at Target through
Jan. 31 receive an EXTRA 25 Box Tops! A tutorial is available on our Facebook (SJGS PTA -
Toms River) and Instagram (sjgs_pta_toms_river) pages. Classrooms with the most Box Tops
scanned during this marking period will WIN a Dress Down Day!

Our February Dining Out at Three B’s in Lakehurst is scheduled for an unprecedented three
days in February: Monday, February 8, Tuesday, February 9, and Wednesday, February 10
from 4 to 8 p.m. each evening. Our goal is a record turnout – and we know our school
families are up for the challenge. Make sure to mention SJGS!

As you clean out your closets and (attempt to) stick to your resolutions, we encourage you to
hold onto and donate those school uniforms that your child grew out of overnight during
Winter Break to our Used Uniform Sale. We hear lots of you asking, so we’re working on a
spring sale date but we need your uniform donations for our inventory! High Demand items
include fleece jackets, pants, sweaters and jumpers! Remember that the Used Uniform Sale
also needs volunteers. We’ll put out the call for help on social media once we have more
details to share, but donating your time to SJGS and the PTA is always welcome!

We welcome your ideas for events that will help us foster community spirit. We are always
looking for new ways to support our school and our families, especially at a time when we
have to be socially distant. If you heard or saw a great idea while celebrating Christmas with
your family over break, please email us: pta@stjoeschooltr.org

             Wishing you a Healthy 2021,
Co-Presidents Jennifer Dreher & Rebekah Park
