The fourth annual GriffinFest was held Saturday,
May 21, 2016. Donovan Catholic welcomed over
250 people under rainy conditions that forced the
festivities inside to the cafeteria. The highly
competitive KBA 3- on – 3 basketball tournament
was held during the afternoon in Gepp gym and raised
money for the Kevin Mitchell Memorial Scholarship. Griffin-
Fest guests began arriving around 6:00 pm to the music of
the Bally Haunis Band led by Donovan Music Director
Harold Frazee along with alumni band members John
Steigerwald ’71, Ed Staunton’72 and Ed Russell’80 and
Steven Frazee on the drums. The delicious food was
once again donated by area restaurants, many of which
are owned and operated by alumni and the Marzarella
Family provided all the burgers and dogs to feed the
hungry basketball players that joined us for Griffinfest.
There was a great representation of all graduating
classes.

to celebrate the 50 th birthday of
our very own Religion teacher
and alumni James Courtney’84.
