Office of ALUMNI
A Letter from Madeline Kinloch
Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Alumni Relations
Dear Alumni,
It has been a very exciting and full year here at Donovan Catholic. Your alma mater is alive
and well, vibrant, strong and growing stronger every day.
This past fall Donovan Catholic entered the global community when it was approved to be
an International Baccalaureate World School. International Baccalaureate programs aim to
do more than other curricula by developing inquisitive, knowledgeable and caring young
people who are motivated to succeed. IB world schools enjoy a high level of respect and
recognition among the world’s higher education institutions thus offering a Donovan grad an
even brighter future.
STREAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, & Mathemat-
ics. Most of you, especially those of you with school age children, have heard of STEM pro-
grams. Well, here at Donovan Catholic, we took our mission statement to heart and
instituted a program, including additional disciplines, to truly incorporate our religious roots
and determination to educate the whole child, preparing them for the ever-changing techno-
logical world in which we are all so imbedded. Donovan held two STREAM weeks, one in
each semester, where all classes and disciplines studied and researched our school –wide
7 theme based off of Saint Mother Teresa’s teachings “Let’s do Something Beautiful for the
Environment.” One bottle at a time - a study of plastics.
Our school community is so fortunate to have so many of you offer your time, talent and
treasures to your alma mater on a regular basis. It is with your support that Donovan
Catholic continues to move forward, being at the forefront of new, innovative and challenging
programs.
This year the alumni office instituted “Class Captains” to help se-
cure the most accurate information on our alumni. My sincere
gratitude to all those that stepped forward to join this
group and help out the Office of Advancement. Our
database and alumni email list is growing by the day.
It is our hope from now on to reach our alumni with
school news and upcoming events via email. The
Griffin Network Today magazine will continued to
be offered in this new flip book format for your en-
joyment. Please advise other alum to contact us
with their updated information.
Happy Spring and God Bless!
