You help us make a difference
As the festive season approaches, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the yearwe’vesharedtogether.
Over the past year, Te Omanga Hospice was involved in the care of one in three people who died in the Hutt Valley.
My colleagues cared for 660 patients
and their whānau, there were 143 admissions to our Inpatient Unit, and our Clinical team made 6,553 visits to patients
in the community, where most of our care is delivered.
Our integrated service ensures greater equity of access to palliative care for those who need it. We continued to support the delivery of palliative care in Aged Residential Care facilities, the Hutt Hospital, and together with general practitioners for patients in their own homes. We also maintained our specialist consultancy services in the Wairarapa.
Through your kindness and generosity, we can provide these services for free to patients and their whānau in the Hutt Valley living with terminal or life-limiting illnesses.
