For the sake of clarity, the beginnings of the Liverpool Wire Splice are shown
here without the vise.
After finishing your tucks and cutting off the strands, pound (gently at first)
the splice with the mallet and, if necessary, smooth ragged ends with the grinder
or side-cutting tool. Apply a layer of tarred tape to act as parceling. Turn the
wires around and once again set them in the vise. This end is executed the same
way as the first, with a standard Liverpool Wire Splice.
