Palomar knot
This fairly strong and very secure knot attaches a fishing line to a hook or lure. Since a bight
must be passed over the item of hardware during the tying process, this precludes using the knot
on ambitious tackle rigs.
Form a long bight in the end of the line, pass it through the eye (1), then tie an overhand knot (2).
Loop the bight over the hook (or bring the hook up through it) (3). Tighten the knot snugly
alongside the eye (4).
