Pitzen knot
This is another knot to enable anglers to attach a fishing line to a hook, lure, or swivel. It is easy
to tie—as fishermen’s knots go—and the result is neat and compact.
Put the working end through the eye of the hook or other item, then bring it back to lie alongside
its own standing part (1). Make a series of four or five tight wrapping turns, in the direction of the
hook, around both sections of the line (2, 3), then bring the end back and tuck it through beneath
the first wrapping turn (4). Pull the knot tight with several strong tugs (5). Snip off the tag end close
to the knot (6).
