Eugene knot

This knot makes a strong and secure sliding noose for a hook, swivel, or other tackle for a range

  of line sizes and weights.

Pass the end of the line through the eye or ring and make a long bight parallel to the standing part
(1). Wrap this bight three or four times around the standing part (2), then finish off by tucking the
tag end through it (3). Tighten the knot and slide it up against the hook or other hardware (4). Cut

the end off close to the eye or ring.
