Tegis knot
This knot is a secure way to join two fishing lines. Its sole shortcoming is that the two ends
project more or less at right-angles to the line, but they can be trimmed off fairly close to the
knot itself.
Make matching bights in the ends of both lines and interlock them, before taking a turn with each
working end around its own standing part (1). Tuck both ends, in opposite directions, through the
central compartment at the heart of the knot (2). Tug it tight and cut the ends off short (3).
