Ladder hitch
Loops often make useful hitches that can be repeatedly attached and detached without any
untying and retying. Use this one to hoist a ladder aloft to wherever it is needed.
Tie a fixed loop—say, a bowline (see page 63)—and tuck it up through between the upper two
rungs of the ladder (1). Bring the bight down over the top of the ladder legs (2), then simply lift up
the standing part of the rope to form this hitch (3).
